Our Story
As far back as I can remember, I have always had an interest in medicine, both conventional and ‘natural’. Some of my earliest memories include sitting in the car while my grandmother performed CPR at an accident scene alongside the road, test her blood sugars and dress in scrubs when called in to work at the hospital. I remember going to her house, asking for ‘bitamins’ (Grandma didn’t have candy), oatmeal with raisins and making delicious recipes of sugar-free carob flavoured Knox Blox (they seemed delicious at the time). I remember the ambulance lights and sirens pass by the house, and knew that meant that probably either my mother or grandmother would be called in to provide anesthesia for the small-town hospitals. While my grandmother was an anesthetist, she gave birth to her 7 children without medications as she felt that was the safest practice, as did my mother and most of my aunts. Both grandma and my mom were anesthetists, 5 of my aunts were nurses, and a number of other family members were also involved in healthcare. My dolls and bear also had unique existences as they usually resided in a ‘hospital’ with lots of good equipment, syringes, IV tubing, dressings, eye droppers, pill bottles with pretend medications, and masks for nitrous oxide. One would be pleased to know that the stuffies had their blood pressures and heart tones carefully monitored on an ongoing basis. As a registered nurse since 2007, I enjoyed a variety of practice, in the ICU, emergency department, hospice and camp nursing. As a nurse practitioner since 2017, I have practiced in primary care, ICU, complex and geriatric care. Most recently I have been employed as an urgent care provider in Western New York, full time for the last 2 years. With Brookfield Optimal Health I am furthering my passion to support life-optimizing care. I have observed the dramatic difference BHRT can make in addressing age-related symptoms and I appreciate the preventative health aspects of BHRT in optimizing cardiovascular, brain, bone and skin health. I am excited to be offering effective, results-oriented treatments to improve current quality of life while helping to prevent various age-related illnesses. My practice is primarily based on the evidence-based BHRT protocols advanced by Dr. Neal Rouzier of Worldlink Medical. Due to popular interest, I am also providing weight optimization treatments, including Ozempic, and MIC injections. I live in the Niagara Region with my husband of 27 years. Together we are thankful to have 4 children, ages 25-13. In our free time, we enjoy being active outdoors. |
